AREC 2017 began!

Today Red Fox Adventure Race XVI powered by Polartec® officially started on the coast of the Ladoga Lake. The race gained international status, and this year’s competition hosts 2017 Adventure Racing European Championship.

A record number of participants – more than 500 – came to challenge themselves in the most extreme race in Russia.
Participants of AREC 2017 – strongest athletes, participants of AREuroseries and ARWS races, winners of AREuroseries CUP 2016 – are to pass 395 km for 72 hours. The winning team will be awarded with a special prize from AReuroseries – a “wild card” for participation in the World Championship 2017 in the USA.

Participants of the race in Short (24 hours) and Long (48 hours) classes are ready to pass a complicated and picturesque route in non-stop format.
The opening ceremony began from welcome speech of Olga Moroz, development director of Red Fox and chair of the organizing committee.

Then the members of the organizing committee were presented – people who have made the successful and unforgettable race for many years. Vitaly Chegarovsky, famous Russian designer of adventure races, wished good luck to all participants.
Also, a greeting letter from Edyta Szczepanska, representative of Polartec LLC and special guest of the race, was read at the opening ceremony. Red Fox Adventure Race has been organized with support of Polartec LLC since 2009.
After the opening ceremony, AREC 2017 began from the thrilling kayaking stage. Stay tuned!
