The location for this year's Red Fox Adventure Race 2016 is the north coast of Ladoga Lake, in the center of Koirinoja village. The natural beauty of this area seems to be created especially for an adventure race. Each of the routes, water, pedestrian, and bike, run through picturesque areas.

As with previous races, each course will have an unknown component that puts the adventure in all Red Fox adventure races.

Vitaly Chegarovsky, designer of the distance, tells about the Red Fox Adventure Race XV powered by Polartec®:

I was working on the development of the course under the slogan “We promise you a scenic distance!” I think I succeeded. I’m making the distance for special people who understand that in order to feel the nature, you should go into a trance. This course will help you to do that. I promise you dynamic diversity and surprising distance with fast stage changes.

Beside the rope stages, participants of the long course will change travel modes a dozen times. The most impressive stages are, of course, scrambling along the rocky shorelines, in and out of the water, with unexpected checkpoints and kayaking stages.

Two pedestrian routes through granite capes will be spectacular. Some of the kayak landings are barren, austere places.

I don’t like easy checkpoints. There will be four waterfalls on the distance, and participants will not just go past them.

As usual, there will be checkpoints where participants should use a rope team, so the outcome will depend not only on technical skills, but also on solidteam work. Some of them can be reached easily and quickly by those who are sufficiently skilled, but some are hard.

Cycling routes will be mostly along highways. There will be a slacklining checkpoint, so prepare accordingly. Train well, otherwise you will not see all the beauty.
