MANDATORY AND RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
Mandatory and recommended equipment for the 2017 Red Fox Adventure Race 2017
Before registration, each competitor must undergo a gear check of mandatory gear, which is indicated in this regulation. Competitors who have not passed the gear check or who's gear has been considered inappropriate and has not been approved by the judges will not be admitted to the race.
Mandatory team gear, which has to be carried throughout all stages of the race
1. A set of maps and route sheet (provided by the organizers);
2. A first aid kit in waterproof bag. Content: bandages (2 pieces, 6 cm wide); tape (min. 3 cm wide); pain medication (Paracetamol or similar); anti-inflammatory medication (Ibuprofene or similar); sterile kit (1 piece, bandage + cotton pads or similar);
3. Knife (any kind);
4. Matches in waterproof case;
5. Mobile phone with a fully-charged battery in waterproof case.
Mandatory individual gear, which has to be carried throughout all sections of the race
1. Bib-number (provided by the organizers);
2. Compass;
3. Whistle;
4. Headlamp with spare batteries;
5. Electronic chip, SFR-system (provided by the organizers).
1. Bike with a red back light;
2. Bike or climbing helmet;
3. Bike gloves;
4. Team number for the bike (provided by the organizers), has to be fixed on the front of the bike.
Recommended individual gear
1. Waterproof clothing;
2. Reserve inner tire;
3. Tool kit;
4. Map holder with fixation for the handlebar of the bike;
5. Food.
The competitors have to strictly follow the traffic laws!
The bike or climbing helmet has to be worn on all bike stage!
1. 2 double kayaks and 4 paddles for team of 4 racers. Double kayak and 2 paddles for team of 2 racers;
2. Repair kit in case of damage of the outer material of the kayak;
3. 2 start numbers of the team, fixed (glued) on the kayak (numbers must be visible and kayaks easy to find in transition area) (provided by the organizers).
Mandatory individual gear
1. Life vest (must be worn during all kayak distance!);
2. Kayak splash skirt.
Recommended individual gear
1. Map holder for maps of A3 size;
2. Gloves with good grip;
3. Clothing which suits the expected weather conditions, plus a set of extra clothing in waterproof dry bag;
4. Food.
1. Clothing which suits the expected weather conditions, for moving in dense forest;
2. Boots or shoes with metal spikes;
3. Trekking poles;
4. Food;
5. Insect repellent spray or creme - there might be lots of mosquitos during this time of the year (a mosquito net helps when sleeping in the forest).

2. Climbing or bike helmet;
3. Self-belay with 2 slings;
4. Carabiners 3 pcs.;
5. Descender/ rappel device (figure eight, tubular device, Petzl Reverso or other);
6. Ascender 2 pcs. (Jumar, Baisic, Croll, Pantin; Prusik slings/ knots are not allowed);
7. Foot sling for the ascender;
8. Clothing which covers ellbows and knees;
1. Climbing harness (any model);
2. Climbing or bike helmet;
3. Rock climbing shoes;
4. Carabiner 1 pc.;
5. Clothing which covers ellbows and knees.
1. Surf board (provided by the organizers at the transition area in pit);
2. Helmet;
3. Rope (static) of 4-5 mm diameter, 10 m long.
