General technical requirements to mandatory equipment for rope routes passing

All the equipment supposed to be used by racers on technical stages has to meet the CE EN and/or all-Union State standards for working at heights. It's obligatory to use helmet and clothing protecting elbows and knees during whole rope course stage. It's necessary to use the gloves admitted by the technical committee of the race.

Competitors should pass a check before the race start using their own equipment and get permission for the race. If the racer's equipment doesn't provide to the safety level, that racer will be excluded from the race up to fulfillment of all the requirements.

Each of the following elements of equipment has to meet ALL its standards. This information should be printed on the product. Only officially manufactured equipment is allowed. So the product must have a factory marking. In case of disagreements one has to show the passport of a product.

ATTENTION! Equipment with remains of chemicals, paints and other impurities as well as having damages and wear, tears of webbings, anguishes and cuts of threads and stitching is discarded.

Rope should be static or dynamic meeting the requirements of single ropes. It should have a diameter not less than 9.0 mm and marking 1 in a circle.

Harness can be sit or full body or two-piece, blocked by a rope. Only manufactured harness with marking is allowed (for example, CE marking), without anguishes, cuts and shreds of threads. Harnesses with remains of chemicals, paints and other impurities are not admitted.

Tapes and webbings should be stitched on industrial facility and have marking (for example, see picture). The knotted slings on self-belaying are prohibited.

It's forbidden to use self-belaying slings from static dyneema, spectra, aramid and similar webbing of width less than 14mm.
Using of daisy chain is also prohibited.
Daisy chain could not be more than of 1 m length (it is considered from external points of carabineer). It can be made from dynamic or static rope or sling.

Self-belaying rope is allowed only from static and dynamic rope of 10-11 mm diameter either factory manufactured or your own one with the use of admitted knots.
For fixing to harness are allowed: figure of eight, bowline knot. Clove hitch, Prusik knot and others are prohibited.
It's absolutely forbidden to use one carabineer for fixing of self-belaying and descender.

Carabineers with twist lock, screw-gate and ball lock are allowed for using on self-belaying and descender. It’s prohibited the carabineers without locking or as petzl vertigo wire lock.
It's admitted only carabineers with factory marking meeting the existing standards (strength, UIAA CE manufacturer).
It's allowed only descender as figure-eight descender, belay/rappel devices, auto locking grigri chinch eddy.
Descender should have factory marking with indication of possible strength and diameter of used ropes.
For figure-eight descender the maximum inner diameter has not exceed 80mm. Diameter of cross section of material of the ring must be not less than 9mm.
