Rollerblading (for LONG class only)

ROLLERBLADING (for LONG class only)

The rollerblading route will be held on a good-quality road, which we can even call “excellent” without lying to you. The only challenging section will be the first few meters of road which is in disrepair and will create a handicap for rollerblades.

All downhill slopes are quite gentle and therefore not considered dangerous. The uphills are equally gradual. There is little vehicle traffic on this section of the road, however, athletes should be careful and attentive, especially while passing competing teams.

At the end of the first section of the rollerblading route, the teams will hand off their rollerblades to the organizers and switch to the “walking” route. It is imperative that the rollerblades are put away into a storage bag, clearly marked with the team number, and handed off to the volunteers in the transition zone. They will be moved to a different location, to the end of the “walking” route section, and given back to the team participants. Choose a secure and durable storage bag so it can easily handle the combined weight of the team’s rollerblades without ripping.

Use of any kind of rollerski is allowed in place of rollerblades. The use of poles is up to the teams.
